हिंदी में →Is a lender harassing you? Get your complaint letter now
Tick what’s happening. You’ll see the exact rule the lender or its agent is breaking, where to complain, and a ready-to-send letter. Nothing you type is stored — it stays on your phone.
How it works
- 1Tick what the lender or agent is doing.
- 2Add when it last happened, and the company's name if you have it.
- 3See the rule being broken and where to complain, in order.
- 4Copy the letter or download it as a PDF, fill in your details, and send it to the lender's grievance officer.
- 5If there is no satisfactory reply in 30 days, escalate to the RBI Ombudsman with a copy of your letter.
Questions people ask
Do I need an account to make a complaint?
No. The tool works without an account, and what you type stays in your browser — only if you download the PDF are the company name and the boxes you ticked sent to make the file, and nothing is stored. An account only adds a private, dated record of every incident, and shows the date you can escalate if the lender doesn't reply.
Where do I send a complaint about recovery harassment?
For conduct that breaks the RBI's rules — calls outside 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., contacting your family or employer, false threats of arrest — write to the lender's grievance officer first. If there is no satisfactory reply within 30 days, escalate to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in. Threats of violence, sexual extortion and public shaming are crimes: report them at cybercrime.gov.in or on 1930, and to the police.
Is it a crime not to repay a loan?
No — mere inability to repay a loan is a civil matter, and you cannot be jailed for it. A dishonoured cheque or actual fraud are different questions with their own rules. A recovery agent who threatens you with arrest over an unpaid loan is using intimidation the RBI's rules do not permit.
Can a recovery agent call my family or my employer?
The RBI's rules for recovery agents forbid intimidation or harassment of any kind, acts meant to humiliate you publicly, and intruding on the privacy of your family members, referees and friends — and they bar recovery calls before 8 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Using your family or employer to pressure you over the debt breaches those rules. The lender remains responsible for the agents acting for it.
