Who publishes this, and how it is sourced
loantrap.org is an independent, non-commercial public-interest publisher. It exists for one reason: borrowers in India are being pursued by lenders and recovery agents in ways their own paperwork puts beyond argument, and almost nobody publishes that paperwork. We do — quoted exactly, dated, and attributed.
What we are not
We are not a law firm, we are not operated by one, and we neither offer nor arrange legal services. Nobody here will ever ask you for a fee, and we accept no donations. Where you need a lawyer, we point you to free government legal aid — which is your right, not a favour.
Our sourcing rule
Every statement we publish about a named company is one of exactly three things:
- • A verbatim quotation from that company’s own website, app, loan agreement or Key Facts Statement — reproduced exactly as written, with the page and the date we read it.
- • A fact from a public register — the RBI’s published lists or the MCA record — with the register named and the date consulted.
- • An allegation, labelled as one, resting on a documented borrower complaint. An allegation is an allegation; we say so every time.
Any figure we work out ourselves is labelled as our calculation, with the method and the denominator shown. We do not estimate, round, or harden a hedge into a hard number. Where we searched for something and did not find it, we say what we searched and when — not that it does not exist.
Corrections and right of reply
Any company named on this site may write to grievance@loantrap.org. If you tell us a statement is inaccurate, we will check it against our source, and where we are wrong we will correct or remove it and publish the correction on that page with equal prominence, within 7 days. You can also use our right-of-reply channel.
